What to Expect

River of Life - Assembly of God is a casual Church, so you won't be expected to arrive in your tuxedo or ball gown. We understand that visiting a new Church can be intimidating or even uncomfortable. So dress as casual or formal as you'd like.

We're a growing church of with a very diverse congregation. We have college attenders, large and small families of all ages, seniors, high school youth, children of all ages - we offer something for all ages and walks of life.

We don't turn people away - we encourage growth, fellowship and want to be there for you during your spiritual growth.

Our music is a mix of contemporary Christian worship styles and the occasional traditional hymns. You are under no pressure to participate. If you do not know the songs, we have a large projection screen displaying the lyrics, as well as Bible verses used throughout the sermon.

We will open with worship time, go into a few moments of fellowship meet and greet (grab yourself a cup of coffee, on us!), then we'll move into church announcements and mention upcoming events. Then we'll learn and grow in our faith together through a message given by head Pastor Jeff Thomson.

If you're visiting on the second Sunday of the month, we practice communion (the symbolic remembrance of Jesus Christ through partaking in bread and juice - we do not serve wine). You do not have to be a member of River of Life to participate in Communion. All we ask is that you take communion with best intentions and with your heart and mind focused on the sacrifice of Jesus.

We teach from The Bible. Bring one if you got one, or you may borrow one of ours. We generally teach out of the New International Version or the New Living Translation utilizing the most modern language for all to hear. However, don't feel bad if you'd like to bring an alternative translation - we'll be projecting verses and sermon notes so you won't get lost.

Please contact the church office if you have any further questions. You may call at (608)782-2780, or email us from our Contact page.

We could even give you a tour sometime before you visit for a service, just call or email the church office to set one up for you! We'd love for you to visit and feel comfortable at River of Life.
